Privacy Policy

Last updated 23 August 2026

The short version: we collect your email, your uploaded photos, and what you render. We use them to run the service and nothing else. We do not sell your data, and we do not train AI models on your photos. Your card details never touch our servers.

1. Who is responsible

Studio Tools Inc., at 418 Broadway, Ste Y, Albany, NY 12207, USA, is the controller of personal information described here. Contact us at privacy@studiotools.design.

2. What we collect

WhatWhyBasis
Email address To create your account, send sign-in codes, deliver receipts, and answer support requests. Performance of a contract
Photos you upload To generate your render. Sent to our rendering provider for that purpose only. Performance of a contract
Render history — the job, room and style chosen, timestamp, credits used To show your history, run the credit ledger, process refunds, and detect abuse. Performance of a contract; legitimate interests
Device identifier — a random value in a cookie To count free renders for visitors who have not signed up. Legitimate interests (preventing abuse of a free tier)
IP address Rate limiting and abuse prevention. Stored as a daily counter, and on first sight of a device. Legitimate interests
Payment records — amount, plan, Stripe customer id To grant credits and keep financial records. Contract; legal obligation
Referring page and campaign tags To understand which marketing actually works. Legitimate interests

We never receive your full card number. Payments are handled by Stripe; we store only the identifiers Stripe gives us.

3. Your photos, specifically

Photos you upload are transmitted to our rendering provider (Stability AI) to produce your image. They are processed to generate your output and to operate the service.

We do not use your uploads or your renders to train machine learning models. We do not sell them. We do not use them in our own marketing unless you give separate written permission.

A photo of a property interior can reveal a great deal — an address plate, a document on a counter, a face in a photograph on the wall. Please review an image before uploading it, and avoid uploading photos containing identifiable people or readable personal documents.

4. Who we share with

We share personal information only with processors who help us run the service:

We may also disclose information where legally required, or to protect our rights or someone's safety. If the business is ever sold or merged, account information may transfer as part of it; we would notify you first.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

5. How long we keep it

DataKept for
Uploaded photosNot stored after your render completes. We transmit, render, return, and discard.
Generated imagesReturned to your browser and not retained on our servers. Download what you want to keep.
Render history metadataLife of the account, then deleted with it
Account and emailUntil you delete your account
Payment recordsAs long as tax and accounting law requires, typically 7 years
Device and IP countersRolling, cleared periodically

Because we do not retain your renders, we cannot re-send an image you lost. Download each result you care about. This is a deliberate privacy choice, and it has this cost.

6. Cookies

We use one cookie, and it is not for advertising.

CookiePurposeLife
rs_device A random identifier that counts how many free renders an anonymous visitor has used. Strictly necessary to operate the free tier. 12 months

Your sign-in token is kept in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie. Clearing site data signs you out and resets your anonymous free-render count.

If we later add analytics or advertising cookies, we will ask for consent first and update this policy.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a right.

EEA and UK residents may lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority. Where we transfer data outside your region we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

To exercise any right, email privacy@studiotools.design. We will respond within 30 days. You can delete your account and its data at any time from within the app.

8. Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit with TLS. Sign-in tokens are stored as hashes, never in plaintext. Sign-in codes expire after 15 minutes and lock after five wrong attempts. Administrative endpoints require a separate secret.

No system is perfectly secure. If you find a vulnerability, please tell us at legal@studiotools.design before disclosing it publicly, and we will work with you.

9. Children

Restage is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

10. Changes

We will post any update here with a new date. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will email your account address before it takes effect.
